Sugar Shack is only a short walk to the expansive lagoon pool at Villages of Crystal Beach! Come on down and see the SUGAR SHACK, our "Coastal Living" cottage near the beach. This house has 10 foot ceilings and upgrades throughout, including custom window treatments, gorgeous hardwood flooring in the great room and a shimmering capiz shell chandelier over the dining table for 8. Each bathroom is fully upgraded with Travertine and glass tile. The beach is a quick walk or, during peak season, just call the trolley to come and pick you up and take you to the beach! Snowbird Season runs November thru February. For a quote, select an arrival date (must be the 1st day of the month) and a departure date (must be the 1st day of a subsequent month). Contact us for alternate date requests and further assistance! All monthly rentals are subject to an additional $150 cleaning fee.

Please note that there are parking restrictions within the Villages of Crystal Beach. There are two parking spaces available in the driveway of the home. Trailers, RV's, boats, golf carts, and motorcycles are not allowed within the community gates; alternate parking arrangements will need to be made for these items.

Villages of Crystal Beach is an exclusive, gated community only a few blocks from the beautiful blue waters and white sandy beaches of Destin. You can make the walk on foot or hop on the free seasonal trolley service (Memorial Day through Labor Day): they will even pick you up at the house and drop you off right at the beach! The pool area at Villages of Crystal Beach is a vacation must! The lagoon style zero entry pool is 30,000 square feet of gorgeous, sparkling clear water. There is a spa, tropical landscaping, and plenty of seating areas. It also has surround sound, a flat screen TV, and a grilling area to help you relax and unwind.

Area Attractions
There are wonderful shops and restaurants close by and great attractions such as golf courses, Big Kahuna's Water and Adventure Park, boating, fishing, and water-sports!

Close by is Destin Commons, a beautifully landscaped, pedestrian-friendly area and a great family venue where children will love to play in the interactive water fountains. Also, for the younger guests, a nautically/pirate themed outdoor playground features a 1,750 square foot soft play area with various creatures from the sea, slides, and a treasure chest! Destin Commons also has a mini-train for the kids. Destin Commons features over 75 shops and restaurants, including Godiva Chocolates, AMC Movie Theaters and Bass Pro Shop.

If you are near Miramar Beach, the snorkelers in your group will love the new artificial reef called Dolphin Reef, deployed in 2017. Located just 685 feet straight out from the Miramar Regional Public Beach access (by Pompano Joe's), it is becoming a haven for sea life. Each of the 4 snorkeling reefs comprises 40 acres of permitted sea bottom. The Dolphin Reef is at a depth of 12-20 feet. We strongly recommend that snorkelers use a kayak, paddleboard, or other flotation device when visiting the snorkel reefs. Sea conditions can and do change quickly and often. Enjoy!

I had to be in the Destin area for work during the height of spring break. Although a few neighboring properties had college kids down for the break, the Sugar Shack was ideal - great parking, clean, spacious and, above all, QUIET. I was not disturbed even once by noise outside. The neighborhood stayed clean, parking was well monitored, and the entire experience was very positive. This is a perfect place for large groups or families; or, someone who needs space to work.

We really enjoyed staying here as a family. It is rare that we get to vacation as a complete family, so this trip needed to be special. The house was just as described. Sure, it wasn't perfect ( a couple spots on the carpet and had internet issues), but overall it was great. Very close to the beach and to shops. Will stay here again!

The stay at RealJoy was very nice. The home was very clean. My family and I thought we had experienced an issue with the air because for some reason it was way hotter downstairs than it was upstairs but when I reached out to them and realized they had responded back it was time for us to leave. They were responsive. I would stay at this home again. We had a great experience.

Great place! The home looks exactly like the photos and the beds are comfy! What ya see is whatcha get!
Only suggestion is that the owners provide body wash. When I travel I don’t always bring soap because I EXPECT the location will have it. The tiny sliver of a hand soap bar definitely doesn’t cut it, especially since there aren’t any wash cloths on site.
Additionally they don’t have any beach items; no beach towels, beach chairs, covers, balls, or toys of any kind like some locations have. They don’t claim to in the ad, so don’t assume they do. Adding them to the home would be a cheap way to really boost the experience of the renter.

It was located in a peaceful area where my kids were able to enjoy riding bikes around and I felt comfortable. Just right for our family vacation. Although this did t affect our stay overall, maybe extra blankets would’ve been nice upstairs was colder than downstairs, and no broom was available as we attempted to sweep behind ourselves in the kitchen area. And the bracelets almost got us!😆 so don’t take them unless you want to pay $50 for each if not returned.
