I had such a fantastic experience here my family and kids loved it .. the parking garage is easy to park on first floor and walk to elevator!! The unit is so clean and has the nicest views I have ever seen .. you have the greatest sunset views ever great for pictures !! The bedrooms were clean the bathrooms were nice good to have my private bathroom with the hubby .. kitchen was great has everything very well stocked with pans utensils plates cups everything!! Washer and dryer was a big help too .. RealJoy always responded and even reached out when the water was going to get shut off there ! Also the trash chute is right across the hall so works out perfect !! Pools were great the big one on this side isn’t heated so if it’s not summer it’s freezing but hot tub is nice and there’s a heated pool right near the elevators .. also the walkway to the river and the other heated pool worked out perfect .. this place is definitely a 5 star when I come back this is the stop I’m reserving again

I recently enjoyed a vacation at a Real Joy property, and it was a delightful experience overall! The location was absolutely stunning, with breathtaking views that truly enhanced our getaway. Every morning, we were greeted by beautiful scenery that made our stay feel special and refreshing.
While the room itself was somewhat dated and showed signs of wear and tear, it was still comfortable and served its purpose well. Given the price we paid and the incredible location, I felt that it was a great deal and worth the experience. One of the highlights of our stay was the exceptional hospitality from Real Joy. Our host was responsive and attentive, addressing any concerns or questions we had promptly.
Additionally, the maintenance staff was incredibly friendly and kind, making sure everything was in order and assisting us whenever needed. Although I might not choose to stay at this specific condo again, I will definitely seek out another Real Joy vacation home in the future. 10/10!!

Stayed for the month of February 2025. Destin West Beach and Bay Gulfside #608. The place was fantastic. The beach was great, all the right amenities. The condo was clean, well equipped, and came with a pull cart which was a great bonus! The view is phenomenal and could dolphins often. The separate king suites are really nice and comfortable along with the sleeping bunk nook. Nothing but positive to say about this place. I would recommend for sure.

Place is absolutely beautiful. Best location and view. Access to multiple pools and lazy river which was great for kids. Right on the beach, short walk to the boardwalk.
Only issue was the front door. Very hard to open and close. Had to shoulder/body force it to open and close while shifting the door too. We all ended up with bruises on shoulders/arms dealing with door. Advised the owners about the door they did not seem to care. Definitely needs to be fixed.
Minus the door situation the place is absolutely amazing with great views highly recommend. & hopefully owners fix the door before someone gets hurts or mad trying to open/close it.

Great unit. Had some problems with patio doors sticking, but with a little maintenance on the door track, door worked good. AC worked good and plenty of towels to use. There were a beach cart and toys in the closets to use. The unit even came with two reserved beach chairs and umbrella daily. Unit had a washer and dryer which was handy. Overall, unit was clean and kitchen was well stocked. View and location was awesome. There were restaurants within walking distance. But even better, Doordash will deliver your groceries to you, so no need to waste your vacation time in the grocery store. Definitely will rent again..

We were there to celebrate a wedding and extended our stay as a much needed vacation!.
As soon as you step on the balcony, the view alone will melt away the normal stresses of life.
There were a couple very minor issues that were addressed immediately, so nothing detracted from our stay. Everything was exactly as advertised. And having both a single cup and a drip coffee pot made all the difference in the world. It is the little things that matter and they hit every one.

I’ve stayed a lot of places in Florida. First of all, Okaloosa Island is the most beautiful sand and water I have seen in the state. The view from the balcony was stunning. The fact that they were two master bedrooms accommodated, both my husband and my daughter and her husband. This condo had everything we needed. Bill was great to deal with in every sense. The check in process was simple. The condo had a wagon for the beach which made things so easy. Our family loved everything about this stay. We hope to return.

We had a wonderful stay at Bill’s condo. It’s exactly what the pictures shows! He is quick to respond and is kind and helpful. The condo could use some updates ( new sofa, fresh coat of paint, etc.) but nothing to keep is from staying again! The condo was clean with plenty of towels and blankets. The location is wonderful too. Just a trip on the elevator to get to the beach. Walking distance to some restaurants and a beach bar. Only a 6 minute drive to Destin’s Harbor with more shops and restaurants. Grocery is just a short trip as well. The beach service was amazing. Plus, there were additional beach chairs, toys and wagon to make the trip to the beach easier. Can’t wait for our next trip. Thank you Bill!

This was a wonderful condo. Clean and well stocked with all the essentials, i.e., cutlery, plates, glassware, pots, pans, etc. I even saw a blender and a mixer, iron and ironing board and a hair dryer. There were a few plastic storage containers if you do any cooking and want to keep leftovers, but not many. I would recommend you bring, or purchase while you're there, some plastic drinking containers for you to take to the beach or pool area as there's nothing like that available in the condo. The location is ideal. The condo is located somewhat central to the building and the beach is only a 3-5 minute walk from the condo front door. The chairs and umbrella that are included during the summer months were such a great service. Our name was put on a small placard that reserved the same spot for us every day and we could go down to the beach at our leisure, and even leave and come back, knowing that the spot would be "ours". It was great. The beach is also clean and such a beautiful place. The beach is great for swimming as there is a couple of natural sandbars and it makes for somewhat shallow waters for little kids. The medium surf is also great for the boogie boards. You will want to bring your own boogie board and there are surf places nearby where you can purchase some inexpensive ones for your stay, but I would check with the Beach Service stand and find out if you can rent those for the duration of your stay. The beds and pillows were comfortable and we slept well. The view from the balcony is top notch. It faces the gulf and the beach and the sun sets to the east and it is in full view of the balcony. We had some lovely evenings just sitting on the balcony, wine glass in hand, playing cards and just relaxing as the sun was setting. The pictures you see are representative of what you'll get. Nothing was broken or needed servicing while we were there. Follow the guidelines of the "what to bring" section in the paperwork you'll receive but I recommend that you go to the condo first and get your bearings so you can see what's in the cabinets. There shouldn't be any food left from the previous tenant but I found coffee filters and some liquid dish soap so that saved having to purchase those items. So, better to unload your stuff and check what's there before you go to the store. This was our first condo experience and it was great. I wasn't sure what to expect but it made for a great first experience and left me wanting to come back.

Our family of 6 had a great time. 4 adults and 2 children. The condo was very clean and plenty of room for all. The free beach chairs really made it nice even though we missed two days because of the hurricane. With two young children's we used the large condo pool, splash/water park next door, and the lazy river next door. Company also great to work with as they kept checking on us and made sure we had everything. Kitchen had everything you could want. Will return if we can.

We wish we had longer than a week to stay, because you really don't have to leave the condo to have a good time! We had a great time! Loved the various options for the pools. Wished the pool that we looked at was heated but it is a large pool so we understood why it wasn't. The beach was beautiful and having two chairs and the umbrella was so nice. Only complaints were the metal chairs on the balcony make rust stains on wet items and it would be nice to have a map of the complex and the amenties nearby so we knew where we were going and what pools were heated vs not heated. We received codes for various areas but never could figure out what they were for. We tried googling but that didn't help. We would come back and the condo was very clean and much bigger then the pictures make it look.

We love the location and September is a great time to visit, less crowds and the weather is wonderful. The condo was great and very comfortable, well equipped kitchen and the 2 king bed rooms is a big plus. Exactly as described in the listing. The bunk room is nice for kids of all ages. The view from the balcony is great from sunrise till sunset and is very large and spacious. We love the choice of pools and the Lazy River is so much fun, for kids and adults alike. There are a lot of good restaurants near by, but you really don't have to leave the complex to stay entertained and the large pier is a short walk away. The beach service is a big plus. The only negative we found at all is the WiFi, it is weak and unreliable so don't count on it.

This was our 15th or 16th year to visit the Destin/Ft. Walton area for our family vacation. We have stayed in many places in both Destin and Ft. Walton Beach. We decided several years ago, that the Destin West Resort is by far the best we have found. This condo has everything you need included the best views available. Sitting out on the balcony early in the morning with a coffee and watching the dolphins swim is just amazing! I could go on and on about the condo, but I would rather tell you why we have stayed at Destin West for the past 3 years and will always come back here. You have some much to do in this one area that you never have to leave. First of all, the beach is much less crowed than it is in Destin. Also, you have the only "Beach Bar" which is a favorite spot of ours. You have many pools to choose from including the huge waterfall pool next door at the Ramada that is 12' deep and has a indoor swim up bar. The kids love going in there and getting a fruity drink (virgin)! The lazy river on the bay side is a favorite for the kids! If you want to lay out and not worry about the kids, this is the place to be! It's like they never get tired of going around and around! We also grab a net and catch blue crabs in the bay along the wall. The kids love it. Right next door on the bay side, we rent a pontoon boat for pretty cheap and drive around in the bay with dolphins swimming right next to us, and we also visit crap island! It's crazy, but a must! Just a short walk down the beach is the pier. We walk out on it several times each year to watch dolphins and look at all the fish. Sometimes we see turtles. This year we say a huge Hammerhead shark! Next to the pier is the Boardwalk with shops and restaurants. The Black Pearl is good, but we really enjoyed Rockin Tacos this year! There is also a great Putt Putt course right across the street. So, if you stop at Publix to get food and drinks, you literally can stay here and never get into your car again! There is so much to do that you just can't do it all! We love it at Destin West and will never stay anywhere else!

Beds were comfy. Had everything we needed to cook meals and wash clothes. Great view of the beach. Nice pools too, and close walking distance to water. We called it home. Our kids 3&5 had plenty of space to play and LOVED the bunk beds. Will be back for sure!!

I contacted Sherry for information about the ovens because I was making the wedding cake and groom's cake on location. We had a wonderful vacation at this condo. It was a perfect fit for my husband, son, my parents and me and will be great in future years as our family grows, as we can expand to the bunk beds or sofa bed if needed. We have stayed at other Destin West condos before and this one compared to the other condos on the Destin West Gulf side - easy access to beach, parking garage, pools and close to the boardwalk with restaurants and some shopping. Condo was in good condition when we showed up and the owner called a couple days after we checked in to see how everything was going. This was our first year vacationing here with our 8 month old son and the condo had a booster seat, pack n play, and beach toys available for us to use. We had brought most of that, but will definitely consider this condo again next year because of those extra amenities! Another huge plus was that the kitchen was well-stocked with appliances and cookware so we could easily cook meals if we wanted. Finally, the owner and manager were great to work with! We asked for a late check out on the day we were leaving and since no one was coming into the condo that day, they worked with us to be able to do that. Great service and great vacation experience!

We spent 10 amazing days here. 1 week is never enough! Condo was spot on in the pictures and perfect for our family of 4. Plenty of room for our 2 boys to spread out! We ate out and also cooked in and the kitchen was perfect for making dinners. Bill was great to work with and helpful when after getting to FL my back windows both fell. If ever you are there and need help with your car we highly recommend Al's Auto Repair and Service. Family owned and great great service!! Hated to leave after the 10 days but look forward to coming back next year!!

Our stay consisted of vacationing with my family and several other softball girls and their families. This property was perfect for this type of trip. Door access was nice. No keys required, just a keypad. Condo was very nice and clean. Everything worked, just like at home. We were coming and going frequently and it had easy parking. This location is great for the softball players to walk and get a bite to eat. I would highly recommend this condo and location to everyone. Beach chair service was so convenient and sure does spoil you. Thank you Bill for a great week!

This was our second year staying in this condo and we loved it just as much as the first! It's very clean, spacious and nicely decorated. The condo's location is perfect and the ocean view from the balcony is just amazing! The owner, Bill, is super nice and extremely helpful. There was a tropical storm that hit the day we were supposed to arrive and he offered to allow us to delay our trip by a day or 2 so that we would hopefully have better weather after the storm and be able to enjoy our vacation. Definitely customer service at its finest! It ended up being a smart decision to delay our trip because the weather was absolutely perfect! We enjoyed lots of time at the beach as well as the pools, hot tubs and lazy river. We also drove over to Pensacola for a day, intending to go to the Natioanl Naval Aviation Museum, but it was closed due to the government shutdown. We did visit the Gulf Breeze Zoo on the way back, which was a big hit with the kids! We also took a dolphin cruise in the Destin Harbor, which we all loved because we saw lots of dolphins! The kids also had a great time riding go karts, bumper cars, bumper boats and other rides at the Track in Destin. It was definitely a very busy, fun-filled, yet relaxing vacation and we hope to be able to stay at this condo again in the future!

My family had not vacationed together for many years, so this vacation was very important to us. We looked at many properties listed on VRBO, and decided on this one because of the size of the condo, and the variety of activities that were available without ever leaving the resort. We were not disappointed. Our ages ranged from 63 to 2, and every one of us found plenty of things to do and enjoy. My favorite was the beach. My adult children enjoyed fishing off the pier, the beach, the pools, and the lazy river. Our little one had fun in the sand and in the pools. And the property is beautiful at night, with all the colorful lighting. Bill was so kind and helpful, both before and during our trip, answering all sorts of questions for us. I would recommend this property to a friend or relative. It suited our needs nicely. It could use some updating, but we were quite comfortable. The listing description was quite accurate, as were the photos. We drove into Destin one evening and had dinner on the deck of Dewey Destin's Harborside restaurant - my favorite place to eat, and was only a 4 or 5 mile drive. All in all, our vacation time was restful and fun.

We had a great time at Destin West.The condo was great and had pretty much everything we needed. We travelled w/ my sister-in-law and her family, and the kids had a great time both at the beach and the pools on the bayside and gulfside. Bill was very helpful with questions and our needs. The weather was good when we were there, no rain, but the waves sure did get pretty big most of the week. It was nice too that they had the spraygrounds for little ones. There were activities for kids over at the Ramada next door that guests of Destin West can go to. But we got there a little late for that ice cream party,oh well. I would definitely recommend this property to other family and friends!

Our stay at Destin West was great! Our condo was clean and had a great view of the beach and the pool. The owners of our condo were very helpful. Our coffee pot wasn't working and they showed up the next morning with a new coffee pot and complimentary coffee!! We watched the "pool guy" clean the pool every morning from our balcony and he did an excellent job. Destin West has what i call a "mini" gym. My husband and I had never seen one that big in a hotel/condo. We enjoyed working out in it! I am already making arrangements to come back next year to this place! We LOVED it!! Oh yeah.....loved having a parking garage too!

We absolutely loved our stay at Destin West! The condo was very accurately described and definitely exceeded our expectations. It was very spacious, very clean and very well decorated! The ocean view was amazing and we all loved the lazy river, the waterfall pool and the hot tubs on the bay side. It rained the first 2 days we were there, so we drove into Pensacola and went to the National Aviation Museum, the Pensacola Lighthouse and the Zoo in Gulf Breeze. We also went to the Gulfarium, which was practically next door to the condo. It was nice but was somewhat a disappointment in comparision to Sea World. We enjoyed eating at the Crab Trap at the Boardwalk just down from the condo (the kids meals come in a handy sand bucket with a shovel!) and we also loved eating at Fudpuckers in Destin (they have live alligators that you can feed, hold and have your picture taken with!). Once the weather cleared up, we really enjoyed our time on the beach! It was so peaceful and not crowded at all. We will definitely be returning to this condo at Destin West next year! Bill was extremely friendly and helpful in answering my questions prior to booking our trip and he even helped us figure out how to get the bathroom door unlocked that our son accidentally locked while we were there! Aside from the rainy weather, it was the perfect family vacation! .

We loved the condo # 608. It is beautiful with plenty of room, very comfortable and well appointed. The kitchen has everything and more! Washer and dryer very convenient. The view of the beach from the balcony is amazing. The pool was kept very clean and the lazy river was lots of fun. The fitness room was really well equipped for a condo complex. We enjoyed the white sand beach, great fishing and exceptional golf courses. Bill made sure everything was perfect! We loved our vacation and our teenage boys did too! This was the second time staying in one of this owner's condos. He is great to work with, and both condos have been fabulous (the other one was the lanai on the gulf side). The beach side condo was very big, comfortable, clean and had a beautiful view. We enjoyed eating on the balcony for every meal and loved watching a thunder storm roll in from the ocean. Destin West is great- you'll never get bored between the beach, pools, splash pad and lazy river. The beach in front of it is absolutely gorgeous- prettier than what we've seen in the Caribbean! Don't hesitate to stay there, and definitely stay in one of Bill's condos!
